I am first and foremost a mother of three children who are school-aged. I have 18 years of experience teaching students. I genuinely understand how challenging school can be for some children. Children have all kinds of reasons for having challenges with school and learning, and I am here to help. I am able to instill good feelings about school and learning. I try to bring strength to what was once a weakness, through a game plan unique to each student. With everyone working toward the same goal, the student gains insight, knowledge, and confidence. My goal is to create self-reliant and lifelong learners.I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Education, minoring in Biology, from Keene State College in Keene, NH. My first job teaching was in Northern Virginia. After this, I taught Science in two different Catholic schools to 4th through 8th grade students in Maryland. I then spent six years with the Washington Archdiocese. I have experience teaching 5th graders in different capacities, including teaching gifted students. I am currently a Gifted/Talented resource teacher.I look forward to tutoring children through the 6th grade in any subject matter such as English, writing, math, science, social studies, and reading.
